Bangkok Tourist Attractions

Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, is one of the top leading tourists’ destinations in the world. So what makes tourists to visit Bangkok more than any other countries? The answer must include the magnificent Grand Palace, Bangkok’s biggest landmark.

Grand Palace

Grand Palace

The most famous of Bangkok tourist attractions, the Grand Palace is composed of many impressive structures that were built in 1782. The most remarkable part of the palace is the Wat Phra Kaew temple, which means the “Temple of the Emerald Buddha”. It is one of the most sacred places in Thailand that insists on rules for proper attire are strictly followed within the place.

When you stroll around the temple, you may meet some friendly Buddhist monks, and you will come across a wonderful statue of Buddha that is carved from a jade and is about 2 feet in size.

Indeed, statues are one of the most common and seductive themes of this temple, with statues of elephants; the seated Hermit statue, located in front of the temple; the giant mythical guards Thotkhirithon that reside in the gates of the temple,  standing 16 feet tall.

Then there are also statues of mythological beings such as Kinnon, Nok Tantim, Naga the serpent and Garuda residing inside the temple. Just these statutes alone make Bangkok attractions like the Grand Palace popular throughout the world.
