Muay Thai - Thai boxing - Ancient Martial Arts
Muay Thai means boxing and Thai. The origins to this martial art is unknown but it was a part of the military training from the end of the 16th century.

During the 18th century it developed into a national sport. Muay Thai isn’t just training, it is a way to learn self discipline, compassion, honesty, gratefulness, unity with the surroundings and find inner peace. For dedicated practitioners it becomes a way of life.
Thai boxing is one of the toughest martial arts. It’s full contact and all parts of the body may be hit except the groin. The contestants use both kicks and ounches to hurt their opponent. Using knees and elbows is common.
Muay Thai is Thailand’s national sport. Most of the contestants are men, but fights between women, and even between children occur. The biggest fights are held in Bangkok’s two
biggest stadiums, Ratchadamnoen and Lumphini.
Muay Thai is practiced in most parts of the world, and many countries have national teams.
Some of the most famous thai boxers are Buakaw, Sanchai, Panomroonglek and Malaipet.
