Khao Yai is Thailand\u2019s most steadily visited national park, especially on the cool season where everyone is looking forward to the possibility of extensive hiking. Waterfalls are on their best and also a great time for bird watching. All of the park\u2019s highlights can be done in one day and most visitors make it a day trip from Bangkok.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you want to do extensive camping, hiking and wildlife spotting, you might want to plan for a solid three-day stay to fully enjoy what this national park has to offer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Discover and observe wildlife<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Khao Yai is home to more than 800 species of fauna, that includes more than 20 endangered species which makes it a huge forest complex to explore with friends and family. Fortunately, most visitors encounter deer and a beautiful array of butterflies dancing through the park in summer especially in June and July. Elephants sporadically show up around the reservoir of Sai Sorn that can be easily seen by visitors.  Khao Yai is also a top bird-watching destination hosting well over 300 species. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mor Tan Jarn, the most accessible wildlife observation tower, is situated near the Sai Sorn Reservoir and the Nong Pak Chi observation tower in the north of the visitor centre. Both are the best place to spot elephants and wild animals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Have a dip Haew Suwat Waterfall<\/strong> <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Haew Suwat is probably the  most popular of Khao Yai\u2019s main waterfalls because Leonardo Dicaprio\u2019s film \u201cThe Beach\u201d <\/em> where his character jump over a cliff of this waterfall. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With its picturesque, breathtaking streams of water, it\u2019s so easy  to just sit and soak in the scenery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Swimming and cliff jumping are prohibited here at all times, since there have injuries reported in the past. Aside from that, crocodile inhabitants in the area make it unsafe to swim  along the river.

Explore the hiking trails and other waterfalls<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The national park maintains half a dozen hiking trails accessible from the visitor centre, campgrounds and the vicinity of Haew Suwat Waterfall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Undeniably, the most breathtaking of Khao Yai\u2019s many viewpoints \u2014 Pha Diao Dai. With  an elevation of around 1,150 metres, indeed this is a wonderful place to soak up the serenity of the forest. perfect place to you can gaze over Khao Yai\u2019s wild interior forest. Most visitors stop here on the way to the visitor centre to soak up the view and take some photograph.

The most important thing to keep in mind is that there is no public transport operating inside Khao Yai National Park. With your own vehicle you could easily lose a week exploring the park and surrounding region. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
