“My husband arranged a last minute day tour with Bangkok Beyond during our recent visit to the city. We began with a canal tour via longtail boat, then a tour of Wat Arun, and finally a visit to Jim Thompson house. Our guide Joy met us at our riverside hotel and we walked to a small pier and hopped on our boat. It was very interesting to see a more traditional side of Bangkok. After seeing Wat Arun from across the river for several days, we loved being able to see it up close in all its broken porcelain splendor. What a gorgeous structure! Finally, it was wonderful to finally get to Jim Thompson house - missed on our first visit 30 years ago. We can't thank Cherry and Joy enough for arranging this lovely tour last minute and for providing such a wonderful cultural experience! We absolutely loved each part of the tour - it couldn't have been better!! ”

Step into a full day of sights, sounds, and sensations in the heart of Bangkok. Your adventure begins with a stroll through the Grand Palace, where every surface seems to sparkle with gold and detail. As your guide paints the picture of royal ceremonies and historical milestones, you’ll understand why this is Thailand’s most sacred ground.

Inside Wat Phra Kaew, the Emerald Buddha commands reverence despite its small size. The room hums with quiet devotion, and many guests describe a deep calm settling in as they take it all in.

From there, it’s a short walk to Wat Pho, where the Reclining Buddha stretches 46 meters across the temple. Intricate mother-of-pearl inlays on its feet and colorful murals on the walls make this temple a feast for the eyes.

Lunch is served at a riverside restaurant, giving you time to savor local flavors and recharge. Then it’s time to board a motorized longtail boat and glide into the canal network. You’ll hear the hum of the engine, the splash of water, and the occasional call from vendors on passing boats. This part of the day is often called the most peaceful and surprising.

The grand finale is Wat Arun. As you approach from the river, its towers seem to rise like a temple of light. The climb offers breathtaking views, but even from below, the detail and symmetry inspire awe.

By the end of the day, guests say they feel more connected to the city—not just through what they saw, but how they felt.
