Regions of Thailand

Like every other country, Thailand has been divided into regions for some purposes. The division of regions are made to meet these purposes and create order.

Thailand, though has two ways of dividing its regions. The six-region system is used for geographical studies. The six regions of Thailand are: Northern Thailand, North-eastern, Central, Western, Eastern and Southern Thailand.

The other way is the four-region system which is for the purpose of the administrative system developed by the Ministry of Interior. The four regions are: Northern Thailand, North-eastern Thailand, Central Thailand and Southern Thailand. It is obvious that the latter regions are the largest subdivisions of the Thai country.

If you happen to come to the northern region of Thailand, you will find that Chiang Mai is the chilliest part because this is a mountainous part. You can meet some groups of people who chose to live in these places in order to enjoy nature and the solemn company of the cool inland region.

However, if you like the opposite of Chiang Mai, Pattaya is the place to be. Pattaya and the mischievous eastern seaboard industrial region are near Bangkok.

This is one reason why people have grown attracted to this place. There are tourists from all over the world coming to Pattaya for the active  nightlife.

In the south western side of Thailand, Phuket is the place to visit. It is a huge island in the Andaman Sea. Phuket was developed in the 1990s with high aims for progress regarding tourism because of its natural gift of everlasting exquisiteness.

The government therefore, developed facilities for tourism. There are first class resorts, maximized places for tourism facilities and they have an international airport.

Central

Hua Hin

Hua Hin – Central Region

In Thailand’s west region, Hua Hin and Cha-Am are famous places being only about a 3 hour  drive  southwest of Bangkok. Hua Hin is a famed traditional Thai seaside friendly resort region that shines from the 19th century.

Just like Chiang Mai, tourists can feel the calmer atmosphere here. In the south of this region is Prachuab Khiri Khan, which is one of the most stunning and hushed seaside places.

Central Bangkok caters a more costly living than every other region of Thailand – which is to be expected. However, Bangkok has outstanding public transportation compared to the other regions so you won’t have to worry when wandering about.

You will find Koh Samui in the  southern region. It is a great island in the Thailand Gulf. Koh Samui is like Phuket, gifted with natural charms but it is slightly less developed.

A small airport is located in Koh Samui. There is an international airport crossing the strict yet friendly channel in Surat Thani.

These are the primary tourist places in the regions of Thailand. Exploring the Thailand regions is best when you have family around and a good tour guide.

You can hire a car and driver in Bangkok and go where ever you like in the kingdom of Thailand for the ultimate in flexibility and comfort.
