The Infamous Tuk Tuk of Bangkok

The Infamous Tuk Tuk of Bangkok

June 16, 2011 · by Frank Munkvold · in Trasportation in Thailand

Tuk tuks (so named because of the distinctive sound they make with their two stroke engine) are probably the most famous means of transportation in Bangkok among tourists. “Everybody” wants to at least try it when they visit. It’s a must do on their list of things to do while in town. Many try it once and then never again.

Monks in Thailand

May 28, 2011 · by Frank Munkvold · in Thailand History & Culture

Death Railway and the Bridge over the River Kwai

Death Railway and the Bridge over the River Kwai

March 5, 2011 · by Frank Munkvold · in Things to do outside Bangkok

Enclosed by forest then opening up onto sheer cliffs, just barely hanging on the edge, before crossing the Kwai Yai River at the Bridge over the River Kwai outside Kanchanaburi City, the Death Railway is perhaps the most scenic rail…
