the canopy is pulled back and the market quickly moved so the train can pass

The Bangkok Beyond Blog is back in action!

We are sorry for the sudden hiatus, we had to cut back on a lot of our resources during the pandemic and put all our focus on customer management and trying our best to give you the best travel experiences possible. However, after we got some time to catch our breath, we are finally able to give you some news and other content again!

Most of the tourist sites are back up and running like usual, and it is no longer mandatory to wear masks outside in Public. However, inside stores, malls or other buildings they could still ask you to wear a mask. But we are well on our way to normal life again. We haven’t had a lockdown in a long time and the covid-19 numbers are looking managed and declining. Even though numbers are lower and masks are no longer mandatory, we still take it seriously and hygiene and safety is a top priority.

If the pandemic was holding you back from traveling, now is a good time to bring out your passport again and seek out adventure!

After Thailand reopened and tourism bloomed again, these are the new places that gained more popularity. Here are the top 3 places people are going now:

1. Kanchanaburi

Kanchanaburi has become more popular with foreigners, such as:

Kanchanaburi Safari Park: Drive through an Open Zoo with exotic animals you can feed and take pictures with.

Meena Cafe: You can sip your favorite beverage with the view of a large open green field with Wat Tham Sua (Tiger Cave Temple) in the distance.

Rainforest Cafe: Enjoy a relaxing time surrounded by beautiful greenery.

Erawan National Park: A must-go place whenever visiting Kanchanaburi with beautiful waterfalls you can swim in.

River Kwai: Another must-go location as it holds so much history from World War II and the stories about the Prisoners of War. You can even take the train and ride the path they built all those years ago.

Hell Fire Pass: Even more history of the World War II Prisoners of War can be found here. Get a deeper look about how they lived, worked and actually walk where they once walked.

2. Samut Songkhram/Ratchaburi

These provinces have always been a popular place to travel, and once Thailand reopened, tourists did not wait long until they revisited these unforgettable places:

Damnoen Saduak Floating Market: A must-go and must-go-again kind of experience where you get to take a boat and float through this culture filled market. Buy some souvenirs, food, snacks or just enjoy the amazing views of rural Thailand.

Talat Rom Hup/Maeklong Railway Market or “Risky Market”: A one of a kind market where a train passes directly through. You will see all the stalls close up as they notice the train coming and you will be told to stand aside as the train makes it way through. Also the food is great!

The Swimming Monkeys at Khlong Khone: Hop in a long tail boat and venture through canals and feed the wild monkeys. They will jump from the safety of their trees and swim over to you and ask for some food. Remember to keep your belongings close!

3. Long Trip North

Recently we have had many requests to take our customers on a road trip starting in Bangkok and ending in Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai. If you are looking to travel through Thailand and try to see as much as possible of the rural life and the unique temples and culture. Visit places such as: Ayutthaya, Sukhothai, Khao Yai, Khao Kho and so many more. If you like old temples, mountain views, national parks and authentic Thai food, then this is the trip you should be taking.

With the opening of the borders and traveling is now back to what it was, we hope to see you very soon!
