This is one dish that you probably know quite well already. Famous across the world, Thai fried rice is pretty much standard fare and you’ll come across it often as you amble along through the crowded streets of Bangkok. Thai fried rice is, as you might’ve guessed by now, fried quickly at a super high temperature, mixed with a range of vegetables and a choice of meat (pork, chicken, and beef) or prawns.

Fried rice is a great tasting, if slightly bland dish by Thai standards. It’s also a safe bet for tourists because normally its not at all spicy (though you can ask). In fact, it’s quite the opposite for many people like to add a squeeze of lemon juice to theirs, adding a slightly sour tinge to an already tasty dish.

Spicy? No

Where to Buy: Street vendors and restaurants

Price: 25-30 Baht

Eat With: Sometimes eaten in restaurants with steamed fish as part of bigger meals

Top Tip: Add a squeeze of fresh lime or lemon juice for a zestier flavored dish!
