Update on COVID-19 situation and Us

Hello Travelers! Or former travelers should I say… It’s been over a year now and this world pandemic doesn’t seem to want to let up. However, good news are on the horizon! Vaccinations have briefly started as around 100,000 people have already received injections. The Public Health Ministry have announced a new plan that mass vaccinations are scheduled for May/June and are aiming for 30 million vaccines throughout the country by August.

Thailand’s general restrictions have slowly gotten less these few months, and mostly everything is back up and running like before. With the exception of temperature checkpoints at all entrances of all malls, 7-Elevens etc. And masks need to be on at all times when inside.

Thai Embassies around the world have started posting updates with information needed for foreigners wishing to enter Thailand between 1st April and 30th September 2021, and if everything keeps going well they plan to fully re-open the country hopefully by October! The Special Tourist Visa will no longer exist from then on and people can enter the country without Quarantine. They will need a vaccine certificate however.

For now what they have announced for those wishing to enter the country from 1st April and on, the Quarantine has been reduced from 14 days to 10 days. And Golf Quarantine is also an option now. Where you can stay at a Golf Resort and play as you wait out your Quarantine time to be up.

In order to enter the country now you’ll be required to have: A Valid Visa (or re-entry permit in line with the purpose of your visit), Health Insurance that states coverage of at least 100,000 USD in medical expenses in Thailand, and lastly A Certificate of Entry, COVID-19 Free Health Certificate.

Some of you might be wondering what we have been up to the past year. To give you the short answer, we put our business in low gear. Accepting the few bookings we get here and there. But mostly our team has been working on other businesses here in Thailand, trying to get back on our feet. Working with Ragtag VR (an indie VR game developing company) we are forming a totally new type of business named Kickass VR!

Though as we make work for ourselves, our drivers and tour guides do not have the same luxury as us. Most of our drivers are freelance chauffeurs and cannot find much work as the tourism here in Thailand has come to a standstill. For a year many of them have been out of work and we sympathize for them. Hopefully with the new plans for the future, they can find some work again like before.
